I have 3 desktop computers, 1 running windows 7 and the other 2 running xp sp3, and 2 laptops, 1 running windows 7 and the other running xp sp3. a few days ago we were playing conquerors ( 1 on the windows 7 desktop and 1 on the xp sp3 desktop ) and had no problems playing the game.. Not really. but try this fix to get it running. how to play age of empires ii in windows 8. some others have the same problem. i recommend that you bookmark this forum for all future win 8 problems. Where can i download the game age of empires 2 (aoe2) for windows 8 for free? how do i connect a pc and a laptop through lan wire having windows 8 os? does playing a game on lan reduce lag (eg. in age of empires)?.
Solving age of empires ii (aoe 2) multiplayer problems november 30, 2009 by alan after having spent an incredibly long time trying to get age of empires ii – age of kings (aok) to work with my friend, and stumbling along many web pages with tips and tricks to get the game working, i thought i would construct a collection of all the methods we tried.. Age of empires ii problems i would like to be able to play age of empires ii (age of kings and conquerors expansion) on my computer (macbook pro) which is running windows 7 through parallels. i am 99% sure this is a windows 7 problem, and not a parallels problem.. Connecting only took a split second, and there were no issues with the game appearing as "age of empires 2: toxic wasteland" (messed up colors). getting all this stuff set up was a massive pain in.
